Police Search for Bank Robber
The Douglasville Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff's Department are looking for a man that robbed the Bank of the Ozarks, off of Chapel Hill Road.
The Douglasville Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff's Department are looking for a man that robbed the Bank of the Ozarks, off of Chapel Hill Road, today at about 3:15 p.m.
A man wearing a mask that looked like an old man said he had a gun and robbed the bank, Douglasville Police Deputy Chief Gary Sparks said. He never, however, displayed a weapon.
"We were led to believe he fled on foot," Sparks said.
Police K-9 Units are working to track the person and the police are in the process of checking the bank's surveillance equipment, Sparks said. Also, a perimeter has been set up and local schools have been notified.
No injuries have been reported.

An employee from Shane's Rib Shack spotted a black male with a blue jacket lurking behind a privacy fence behind the bank. Moments later there were four dogs, and 20-30 police cars on scene. Witnesses say with the man being on foot, and all of the dogs that the robber would be caught easily. The police on scene said there were no injuries.

So sorry to hear this. This is the bank we bank with and all the employees are so nice. I'm glad no one was hurt and hope they find the perp soon.

We are working on a local community watch program. The efforts are in place, they just need to be exposed to our network. We have support from our local police, and are going to keep very active in this effort. The first step is community involvement, and we have a fantastic group of very involved people here.

Absolutely John! Peoples lives are in danger here. I can get support, and information from my local network, but you can reach so many more. Please email me. I am working hard to reach everyone on this issue. CALL THE POLICE, AND SAVE A LIFE
I will ask the city for more support. We should have signs, and cameras to prevent anyone from testing our community watch program. Do you know if the video from the bank will be released?
