Fleeing Inmate Quickly Recaptured; Riding for a Good Cause

Here's some happenings at the Douglas County Sheriff's Department this week.

Fleeing Inmate Quickly Recaptured

An inmate of the Douglas County Jail attempted to escape custody on Wednesday morning as he was returning from court, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Facebook page. Lamorris Delano Russell, 23 from Atlanta, tried to walk away from officers as they were unloading inmates from the bus. Deputy Liz Graham, a transport officer, was watching the inmates file into the jail when she noticed one inmate running toward the corner of the building. Graham caught up to him, grabbed him and walked him back. Russell’s returned to court on Sept. 20, where his bond was denied by a Magistrate Judge.
