There’s something very Zen about making a beautiful piece of beaded jewelry.   From choosing the design to sourcing the perfect beads it’s an exercise in meditation that culminates with a piece of art you can wear everyday.  Cool Beads on Chapel Hill provides a peaceful sanctuary where you can create to your heart’s content, with just about every tool, supply and bead at your fingertips.

Situated in a corner space that allows for ample natural light, Cool Beads is a full service bead supply shop, custom jewelry boutique and artist workshop space all rolled into one. Owner /Operator Becky Rathel is a happy evangelist for beads and is eager to assist with jewelry design, finding a much-needed item or to answer any questions.  Customers are invited to stay and create their beaded goodies in-store at a communal artist table.  (This is a perfect activity for Moms during the week while kids are in school or at a Moms Morning Out Program!)

Cool Beads offers forty-five different classes including Beading 101, Beaded Circle Necklace, Wire Wrapped Pendants, Woven Bangle bracelet and Wire Nest Pendant.  Classes are held in Saturdays but Becky will also teach classes by appointment.  Class prices range from $10 to $65.
