The Douglasville Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) will host the first of two Friday Night Flicks movie screenings Friday, June 8 on O’Neal Plaza. The free, outdoor event starts at 8 p.m. with the animated family film, "Kung Fu Panda 2" beginning at dark.
Attendees are invited to dine-in at one of downtown Douglasville's local restaurants before the movie, or get their meal to-go to enjoy during the film. Downtown restaurant options include Gumbeaux's Cajun Cafe, the Irish Bred Pub, Fabiano's Pizzeria and Deli, Hudson's Hickory House and El Texano Mexican Restaurant. Movie goers are encouraged to bring their own seating.
“Friday Night Flicks is one of many enjoyable activities presented by the Douglasville CVB to connect with the community. It brings families together for a fun night out in downtown Douglasville, and has proven to be a very popular event,” said Kizzy Howell, Douglasville CVB advertising and promotions manager.
In addition to the film, attendees can enjoy music, popcorn and games. Kung Fu Panda 2 headbands and stickers will also be available for children while supplies last. The second and final Friday Night Flicks event of the summer will be held on Friday, Aug. 3 featuring “Zookeeper."
Friday Night Flicks is an outdoor, weather dependent event. Cancellation could occur without notice. For more information, call the Douglasville Welcome Center at 770-947-5920. No alcoholic beverages allowed.
