Barbara Ann Morris Pointer Dies

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville today from 6 until 9 p.m.

 

Barbara Ann Morris Pointer, age 75 of Douglasville, passed away Thursday, June 7. A native of Douglasville, she was born April 18, 1937 the daughter of the late Joseph Alanzo Morris and the late Bessie Shead Morris. She retired from Sears & Roebuck. After retirement, she worked for DBIC. She was of the Baptist Faith, attending Liberty Baptist Church in Douglasville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ola Mae Morris Gantt and Ruby Irene Morris Shead; and brothers, Jodie Morris and Harold Morris.

She is survived by her companion of 46 years, Oscar Thompson of Douglasville; nephew, Nolan Shead of Canton; niece, Wanda Couch of Lithia Springs; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville today from 6 until 9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, June 9, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Marbut and Rev. Johnny White officiating.

Interment will follow at Douglasville City Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Barry Shead, Brian Shead, Kelly Couch, Nolan Shead, Ralph Couch and Brady Butler.
