Arrests Made on I-20 for Marijuana, Credit Card Fraud

Four ounces of marijuana was recovered as well as 15 to 20 iPads purchased with stolen or fraudulent credit cards.

Martin Davis, 27, and Johnny Bryant, 21, both from Ackerman, MS, were arrested Thursday after members of the Douglas County F.I.N.D. Unit discovered four ounces of marijuana hidden in their car. Deputies were given consent to search the car during a traffic stop on Interstate 20, near Post Rd. The marijuana was found hidden in shoes, under the spare tire.

In a separate traffic stop Thursday, also on Interstate 20, near Post Rd., members of the F.I.N.D. Unit arrested Gregory McCain, 36, of Jonesboro. Consent was given to search the car and officers found 15 to 20 iPads and other computer equipment.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the items were purchased with stolen or fraudulent credit cards in and around Birmingham and parts of West Georgia. The items were seized and the case was turned over to CID for further investigations.
