Army, Air Force Vet, Roy J. Stallings, Jr. Dies

He was a U.S. Veteran of the Army and Air Force during WWII. He worked as a fire fighter for the City of Atlanta, for 28 years and was Baptist by faith.

 

Roy J. Stallings, Jr., age 88 of Douglasville, passed away Thursday, May 31. He was born May 13, 1924 in Carroll County, to the late Roy J. Stallings and Nannie Mae Little Stallings. He was a U.S. Veteran of the Army and Air Force during WWII. He worked as a fire fighter for the City of Atlanta, for 28 years and was Baptist by faith.

In addition to his parents, Roy J. Stallings and Nannie Mae Little Stallings, he was also preceded in death by his son, Roy Stallings, III.

Survivors are his wife, Laura M. Stallings Ray; daughters: Kathey Sammons of Beauford, SC, Robin Owen of Lithia Springs; sister: Audry Lee of Wilmington, NC; brother: Ewell Stallings of Longwood, FL; two grandsons and two great grandchildren.

Graveside Services were held, Saturday, June 2, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, College Park.
