12 Pounds of Pot Seized in I-20 Stops
In two separate incidents, the Douglas County Sheriff's F.I.N.D. Unit found 11 pounds and 1.5 pounds of marijuana hidden in vehicles during I-20 stops.
Marcellus Britton, 25, was stopped on I-20, by members of the Douglas County Sheriff's Department's F.I.N.D. Unit, and arrested on June 12 for driving with a suspended license.
An inventory search of the car revealed 11 pounds of marijuana in the trunk, according to the Sheriff's Facebook page. Investigation showed the marijuana was purchased in the Atlanta Metro area and was destined for Tuscaloosa, AL.
On June 15, members of the F.I.N.D. Unit stopped a vehicle on I-20 near South Baggett Rd. A K-9 alerted on the car and 1.5 pounds of marijuana was found hidden in an ice chest in the trunk. Jesse Sheppard, 32, of Demopolis, AL was arrested without incident.
