Edna Sue Rogers, age 55, of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011. She was born in Fulton County on March 2, 1956 to Bobby and Ruth Brown Samples. She worked as a residential painter and was a member of Mt. Arbor Baptist Church in Marietta.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-son, Joseph Perry Rogers.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Heyward Rogers of Douglasville; daughters, Teresa Wooten of Douglasville and Tammy Kitchen; step-children, Virginia Rogers of Canton, Rick Rogers of Las Vegas, Nevada, Stephanie Barnwell; sisters, Pat Sanders of Villa Rica, Linda Samples of Mableton, Charlotte Samples of Mableton; step-sister, Donna Freeman of Mableton; brothers, Bobby Samples of Douglasville, David Samples of Barnesville, Joseph Samples, Dennis Samples, Russell Samples, Robert Samples all of Mableton; grandchildren, Angel Wooten, Shellbie Manly, Joseph Buck Rogers, Brian Rogers, Neil Goff; great granddaughter, Serenity Rogers.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at 11:00 am from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville, with Pastor Robert Matthews and Pastor Larry Edmundson officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 1:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
